I have a novell network at work and need to know how to acess command promt without using the run in the start menu anything you know about novell will be helpful. 🙂

PS: the network admin has locked the run option and any other way i know of getting to the command prompt.

If you need to get to the run prompt for work ask, they'll have to enable it for you if you have a valid business reason.

you need to execute a program called cmd.com or command.com.

browse to it on the server in a folder called public.

As Nothinman said, if the network admins disabled the Run command, they probably did it for a reason. If you need to get around it, you should ask them for permission before you do something that might violate company policy and get yourself in trouble (or fired).

By the way, this particular issue really has nothing to do with Novell itself, but with local security policies applied to Windows on your computer. They are generally created and administered from the network server but work pretty much the same way whether you are on a Windows, Novell, Unix, or any other type of network...
