I need info for upgrading video cooler

Darn

Member
I have a Gainward GF3 MX400 twinview. The factory fan is shot making a bunch of noise and vibration. The fan sits down inside of the heatsink so just replacing the fan is probably not possible. I would rather upgrade to a larger HSF anyway to get better cooling but I am not sure what is the best method to attach the new one. Would you recommend a specific video cooler kit or just an x86 HSF. What is better thermal tape or epoxy? Where is a good place to purchase the product you recommend?

Thanks in advance for any info you can give me on this subject.

Choices would be to call Gainwards tech support and see if they could send you a replacement (warrantied)
Other choice would be to buy one from here. They are very good, though tech support has been left wanting a bit lately (says a few people around here). Which one? Well, they will all do the job..its more about looks here.
