Hi
I just got a dell 3000, and unfortunatly it has no agp slot. I need to buy a 256mb stick of ram for it and also a PCI video card. I have a budget of exactly $160 so please factor in the cost of the ram if you help me. Should I go for the 9200se or the FX5200?? Or something else?

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GET THE 9200SE. I had it in my old system and it sucked. The best PCI card u can get is a Radeon 9100. They're kinda rare but its worth the effort to find one. If u cant find a 9100 then go for the FX5200. make sure u get thr 128bit version though instead of the 64bit.

really.. save up to $400-500... spending $160 on a pci card is not worth it

$400-500 can get you
cpu/mobo from Frys - $100-$200
512 ddr value ram - $70
probably a 9800pro - $150-$200

well..the 160 is in the form of a webcertificate, which I got for free. So I have to waste it on something

and the computer I also got for free, lol.

I get lots of free things, got me a free sony 27" wega, 4G 20 gb ipod, iRiver H320, Archos AV420 video player. Yup thats pretty much it so far. Anyways thats off topic, IM me at reebdoog85 if you want to talk about that
