Hey all, this is my first post.

Ok, i got a p4 3.2 540 processor. Now when the weather is warm or heater is on, the cpu fan goes nuts especially when playing games. It doesn't sound very healthy at all. I'm not sure how to properly check its temp but a program i found says thats its always around 88 degrees (C). Now i've looked through a few cooling posts but am finding it hard to follow a bit of the jargain. What would you recommend i do to get some serious cooling happenning? Obviously the fan and heatsink that came with it are useless. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Read this review http://www.silentpcreview.com/article285-page1.html

Then buy the AC freezer 7 Pro. Remove the retail thermal interface material (TIM)=the pad.
Then install this under-rated HSF with AS-5. The ACF 7 Pro will be my next HSF purchase
for a P4 2.8 when it is installed on a board that can be OCed.

First post !! Welcome to this forum smiley235. Read some of the stickied HS reviews at the top
of this page.

I really can't give a tutorial about or on it when Google offers so much ;)

Read me http://www.arcticsilver.com/as5.htm

The thermal pad that comes installed on the HSF would work OK, but by replacing it with
AS-5 would probably give you a 3C drop over using the thick pad.

It's quite easy to do, just do a little reading/homework first. :)
