I need help with two things in Win XP

I just built this system:

Abit A8N Ultra
Athlon 64 X2 3800+
2 GB Corsair Value Select
250 GB Western Digital Caviar HDD
EVGA 6800 GS
Antec Sonata II
Dell 1905FP
Win XP Home

Almost everything is perfect except...

When it goes into deep hibernation it won't wake up, the screen stays dark or sometimes the background picture comes up but no desktop icons show. Where should I go in Windows to work on this?

Second, I upgraded from a PIII with 128 MB of memory but I'm a little disappointed when I use Explorer to arrange my digital photos. I was expecting a big difference but the response seems to be about the same. I click on a folder of photos and instead of opening immediately it takes about 2-3 seconds for each file to show up. At first I thought it was because I had thumbnail view selected, but when I change it to file Details view it takes the same amount of time. Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you might need to update all your firmware/drivers/bios.
Even though it is new, there could be several updates already.
Make sure you installed the proper hdrive controller drivers from the supplied cd.
I always disable hibernation, so....
