I must first say everything was working great, then I went to bed and turned off my equipment.

So my Pioneer vex-523 will no longer displays any sound or picture from my charter hd cable box, The tv informs me there is no signal. However my ps3 plays movies, games, streams everything great with sound in full hd. Everything is pluged in via hdmi cables I've tried swopping cables and ruled that out. I just plugged the cablebox into the tv bypassing my surround-sound system and it has sound and picture just fine, tv speakers only :( it's gotta be my receiver right? Please any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

In addition to just swapping cables, have you swapped HDMI plugs (i.e. plugging the cable box in where you would normally plug in the PS3 and vice versa)? That would tell you if an HDMI connector on the receiver has gone bad. It's not entirely clear from your post if you've already done that.

Thanks for the quick reply, and yes I've tried moving the cable around to different outputs all giving the same results. The play station works in all of the outs, the cable box does not work in any of them. However if I plug the cablebox into the tv directly I can watch my baseball game all be it through tv speakers. ( I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks those are crap, especially coming from 5.1)

which do you power up first? Some times HDCP from one of the devices wants to always be first to power up.

I did notice that I needed to have both the tv and cable box on before powering up the receiver. Now it does not matter in what order I turn them on I'm getting the same results. I've unplugged and "rebooted" the cable box, many times. I have 4 different hdmi cables all work with my ps3 none with cablebox. Again thank you for the help guys!

I know if my cable box powers up before my Xbox One sometimes it takes a while for the XB1 to see it when I try to watch TV.

I had to edit my last post as I made a mistake when typing that. I'd try swapping the cable box.

On a side note, I noticed when everything was working, I would power up my receiver and the cablebox would display "dul" before it clicked over, now I can no longer get that display to show up, it has been replaced by "EU01" which I've never seen it display before. I guessing it's an error of some kind.

Ok I tried the resets covered in the links given by oldsmoboat, still not working. I'm guessing I need to call charter first get a new box. If that still doesn't work warranty my receiver? Thank you again for all the help!!!

does your receiver's manual have a procedure for a "reset" or "microprocessor reset?" I'd try that if you haven't
