I am stuck at the part where the Matriarch gives you the coordinates and then comes under the control of Saren. Then you have to fight her and 3 commandos.

I tried everything i can think of. I just dont see how it is even possible. Every time i get close to her she stasis's me and unloads her gun. I even managed to kill her once but the 3 commandos took me out. I tried this same part like 30 times and am realy sick of having to talk to the damn matriarch over and over again before fighting her.

Any ideas on how to get passed this?

Turn the difficulty down. lol

I remember I had it on hard and had to turn it down for this part. Also, make sure your team mates are set to "Active" for using their powers so they aren't COMPLETELY useless (just slightly useless).

Also when I did this fight I took out all her support troops before finishing her off.

What level are you? I did this planet last and after most of the side quests, so I was really powerful by this point in the game.

its a RPG. go grind and get your level up and then come back.

You don't need to level up because their levels are variable based on whatever yours is. I did this mission first and yeah it is kinda hard. If you are playing this like an FPS that is your fist problem. You need to keep pausing and issue commands/use abilities. I killed the matriarch last and just stayed out of her los. i killed the first group. then ran to the other side killed them., etc. I kept moving and covering.

Alright I guess ill keep tring. It would really help if i didnt have to restart the conversation with the matriarch every time I die.

Also I cant realy go grind because im in the middle of the mission. To back out now would mean i lost like 3 hours of playing that i would have to do over again.

If you like at the room like so:
3 4

1 2

Where 1 is the corner you start in, you need to go to the section between '2' and '4' - Benezia can't see you there, and it gives you a chance to pick off the commandos. Also, you don't have to directly damage Benezia until the very end of the battle - her power will go down whenever you kill off a wave of the backup. Also, damping is your friend.

Listen to guy above, go to corner 2 first and she can't hit you.

Benezia never hit me in any of the corners. I just went to each corner until everything was dead.

Very good advice.

If you stay in the corridors between 1 - 3, 3 - 4 and 2 - 4, she can't get you. You just have to deal with her goons. If you are between 1 - 2 you are toast :).

that drove me insane, why wasn't the save point after the conversation?

I just did this last night. At first I looked for cover and tried to used biotics and it got me killed. Then after dying 2 times I got pissed and just stood there and shot her until she died, then picked off the commandos standing in the center platform. -_-

The levels don't scale that well at higher levels - your enemies might be at the same level as you, but you're still going to walk through them. Thus, grinding is a good solution if you know to do it beforehand.

I had no difficulty with the Matriarch, but it seems a lot of people find it very difficult. Taking cover in this battle is generally a losing strategy - just run around the room, gunning down the commandos, and then go back to her. If anyone can use an assault rifle, this is probably the fight to make sure they use it in.
