When I try do delete the primary dos partition, it says "Could not change partitions, because the disk could not be locked." ...I want nothing on my computer, fresh start...and now it says I can't even delete this stuff? What do I do?

Huh, thats a new one to me.

I know you cant delete an "active" partition, maybe thats whats holding you up.

The primary partition must be inactive to delete it.

If thats not it, Im keeping an eye on this thread cuz Ive NEVER seen that error message & maybe I'll learn something here if someone else knows what that means.

So heres a bump for ya. ;)

Go to IBM.com and search for the programs wipe and zap. This will write your drive to zeros giving you a fresh hard drive.

Norton Ghosts GDisk will do a Gov. wipe of your HD also, if you have that.
Might as well delete the master boot record while youre at it to.
