i need help with downloads

i am using a cable modem and windows 98. a few days ago my computer got messed up and now when i try to download stuff, it never takes me to the window to choose where i wanna save it. is there anything i can do to fix this??

i assume your using internet explorer? i had this problem once, but unfortunately i can't remember how i fixed it.

there is nothing more annoying than not being able to choose where you want to save something.

THis may be way off base, but have you checked your security settings for IE (Tools, Internet Options, Security and Advanced Tab). Too high security won't allow you to download. You could also try reinstalling IE.
