My PC's been feelin slow and I would like to give it a clean format.

Now I have a copy of Norton Ghost 2002 from buying Canon S110 and I would like to know how things work. Does Ghost completely restore everything after the reformat?

I have a single 40g HD with XP... tell me what to do.

If you imaged the drive now it would create an image that includes all of the junk that is making your system run slowly. So it would be pretty much pointless.

If you want to try it anyway, you will need a different partition or drive to store the image on if you want to do a full format.

If you are serious about making a clean start, just save your documents, e-mails, saved game files, etc. to a different partition or burn them to a CD. Then AFTER you've re-installed windows and installed all of the necessary patches, make an image so that next time you can skip all of the installation hassle.

Good luck!

You use Ghost to make a perfect image of your drive. It basically makes system restore discs using your current install. Since your current install is slow, you don't want to use it to make an image.
