Ok, I picked up this old 32" Sharp TV from someone who was moving out of my apartment complex. Turns out he had no remote. No worries though because I have a 19" Sharp TV and the remote for it works fine on the new 32" Sharp.
Only problem is I cannot get the TV into 'input' or 'video' mode. It has the RCA jacks on the back of the TV and I plugged in my Gamecube to test it but I cant get into either of those modes. Pressing the 'input' button on my remote (which would put my 19" into input mode) does nothing on the 32" TV.

When I go to the menu on the 32" the first option says:
TV : +
Video: -

But I dont have any sort of '-' button! Channel up and down just change the channel. Volume up and down just change volume. I've tried every button, including the ones on the front of the TV (channel, volume, etc) to avail.

What can I do?

That's what I was thinking but I dont wanna buy one to discover that it doesn't have buttons for the '+' and '-' functions.

I'll be picking up a universal remote today then. Any other suggestions or is this about my only option?

You probably already checked, but worth checking again - my Sharp TV has a '+' and a '-' on two of the buttons on the front. I think it is on the Volume pair, but not certain. Anyway, when I have the OSD showing, those buttons work.

It would take some leg work but it is possible to find the original remote. It took me the better part of two weeks before I was able to find one for my dad's VCR. We would have just purchased a univeral but the VCR has this built in TV guide called StarSight and there were a few buttons on the remote specific to that.

Volume is it! You see, the buttons on front of the TV have been pushed in so I couldn't use those buttons. So I took a screw driver and pressed the button on the inside of the TV and it worked! Its weird that the volume buttons on the remote dont work though.
