Hi people, I work for a electric security lab. We need some ideas on how to accomplish the following:

We need to sense the state (cero or one) of 1500 points that have information of the state of 1500 lamps on a given time frame.
The signals we'll be handling will be cero, for cero volt and one, for 10 VCC.

This tensions will be desvinculated from the electricity network. The tests can go on for 84 days, 24 hs a day (2000 hours). Cero is lamp on, 1 is lamp out.

I need to know:

1) which lamp burned out
2) The exact time it happened during the 2000 hours of the test.

We could join the 1500 signals in one connection and to know the time, a PC clock could be checked to know the exact day and hour and then the data saved in that PC

Thanks a lot for ideas and forgive my bad technical english.

Hi, I did testing for a manufacturer for years but never had to watch 1500 things at once. I would probably put thermal sensors or light sensor at each lamp and monitor those. You are going to need a lot of multiplexing to get individual reading from all 1500.

Good Luck, Jim
