i need help understanding s-video

It's an A/V cable... the red/white RCAs carry the audio, and the Svid cable (black) carries video...

That pic is probably not of what you will get.

The red/white is audio; usually yellow is video, and yes -- S-video is video only.

Ya that's what i thought, but what's weird is that I HAVE this cable, it's an s-video connector on one end and it has two rca plugs on the other end.

All of the above is correct, plus there are two RCA cables so it can carry a stereo audio signal. One cable for left, one cable for right.

That's wierd to say the least. Perhaps someone built an S-Video to Composit converter, and then split off the signal to get two cables?
