I need help setting up my network

So I have comcast running my Surfboard sb5120 modem, and i've been running cable all throughout the house and i've decided to go wireless. I picked up a netgear PCI card and a netgear wireless router, hooked up my cable modem to it, but when my pci card finds the network, it connects, but nothing works. It's also doing it with the laptop, same exact thing. I'm not sure how to get to the settings via ie, all i know is that the 192.168.x.x was for DSL, not cable. Can anyone help me here?
