I need help setting up my cable modem with Windows XP Pro

I have Windows XP Pro and I need any instructions you may have so that I can set up my internet connection with my cable modem. Also, any suggestions on tweaking my internet settings would help too.

Have you checked your cable modem provider's website? Have you called their tech support? Without knowing anything about your unnamed provider, there may not be much we can do.

MY service provider used to be Road Runner, but now it is AT & T.

Make sure they have your MAC address and set XP to get its IP from a DHCP server. For anything more you should take a look at their support page (Im too lazy to do it now) and see if there is anything else you should have to do. Typically there are instructions for these types of things on ISPs' websites.
