I need help setting up Exceed

I have exceed installed and running on my windows computer, but I have no idea what needs to be on my linux computer for the two to work together.
Someone said get the xlib and xbin .tgz's from slackware.com (this is a slackware box) but I don't know what to do from here. Anyone done this before?

oh and i should probably elaborate that the slackware box is purely command line. I didn't install any of the graphical stuff when I set it up. So i'm not sure if that needs to change or what.
