Here is what I am looking to do. I wanted to have a server where I could host multiple websites for different domains that I buy. I bought and fixed up an old pentium to act as my server. I have Windows 2000 Server Edition on it right now but I am not sure that it can host multiple sites. I haven't had much time to mess around with it. If anyone has any idea on what the best thing is for what I am attempting to do then I would greatly appreciate it.

First off what is your connection to the net. Needs to be pretty phat for decent speeds.

clueless newbie.

Pentinum + Win2k Server = slow as turtle.

try linux + Apache.

dump enough ram into your machine.

Read your ISP TOS, hosting server usually violates most ISP TOS

What upload speed does your cable have? Will your ISP let you run a server. 128 is not fast enough to have decent speeds. 256 is what you need and that is still slow.
