I have a computer with a geforce4 in it, it has a VGA and a DVI out. I have gotten this computer to work on other monitors. The problem is I have this viewsonic va2012wb monitor. The monitor has cables for input on both VGA and DVI. Does anyone know about this monitor? Does it have the ability to switch between 2 differnt outputs or is it supposed to be plugged into both kinda like the 30" apple screen?

Also, if I just have the VGA plugged in and boot up into safe mode it does work but in the device manager in safe mode there is no monitor catagory. If I boot into windows normally, it shows the windows loading screen then the screen goes black. It stays black, if I unplug the vga cable the monitor then says that it's getting no input so it appears for some reason that the video card is displaying black when booting into normal mode.

I have already tried installing the latest video card drivers in safe mode and it did work once, but then it stopped working again. I tried uninstalling the drivers then reinstalling the drivers and it does the same thing. Then I tried uninstalling the drivers in safe mode and just booting up normally and again it's displaying black.

Then I turned off the computer, got another monitor booted it up normally and it regognizes the video card in the device manager and an unknown device and it displays video instead of black even while booted into normal mode.

If you don't want to read everything, to sum it up.

Will work with the viewsonic va2012wb in safe mode.
Will work with other monitors in normal mode.

Will not work with the va2012wb in normal mode.
