I am not very computer savy, so any response will most likely be needed to be dumbed down for me.

Had some issue with my computer not too long ago and tried to reinstall Vista and got a BSOD and the computer would never load from that point on.

Took the computer to the shop and they suggested to just wipe the hard drive, do a fresh install and everything would be ok.

Got my computer back a few days ago and then it would only stay on about 1 minute before it would powerdown. Quick inspection lead to the heatsink being loose. Cleaned the thermal paste off, reapplied new paste, and reinstalled the heat sink

Now when I turn the computer on, my 275gtx video card wont recognize through the monitor. Checked and the fan isnt turning either. I did have an old 8800gtx and installed that, thinking it could be a bad card. The 8800gtx fans are spinning, but my monitor wont recognize that either.

What in the heck could be the problem? It was suggested it was a PSU issue, so I just bought a brand new 850w Antech powersupply and it makes no difference.

So to conclude, I have no swapped out 2 vid cards and 2 powersupplies and my computer still doesnt work...

Please help me !

do you have a speaker hooked up to the motherboard so you can hear beep codes?

Did you give power to the video cards?

did you plug in the power in the /4/8 pin power connector on the motherboard?

have you tried to reseat the processor.

Before when you had the processor heatsink not on right, how long did you leave it on for before you turned it off.. if left on for a while you may have cooked your cpu

First of all, this is posted in the wrong forum, you should post this in " Computer Help" which is meant for general problems such as this.

When you repost be sure to include the make and model number of motherboard so we can give you better information.

:)
