I have an Abit KG7 and was wondering if changing the CAS from 2.5 to 2 could hurt my RAM. I have 3x256MB PC2100 ECC Registered RAM. On another note, I was looking for the most up to date VIA drivers when the site referred me to Abit's site 'cause I have a hybrid chipset. Abit doenst have any drivers from what I can tell, would it be alright to use VIA most up to date 4in1 driver?

Thanx,
Mark

You can try to run your RAM at CAS2. If the RAM cannot handle it, you may not boot, or you may get strange errors. It is unlikely to cause hardware damage.

Even if it is a hybrid chipset, in this case AMD761/VIA686B South Bridge, you still need the VIA 4-in-1 drivers. Simply download and install the latest version from VIA, version 4.33, from here. The drivers will automatically detect what you have.
