I need help. Madden 2001 runs same fps on ever res!!!!!!!!!!

I get about 35 fps at 640x480(it drops in the low 20's at times) as I do at 1280x res. Is this just the game or is there something wrong with my setup . I have a original k7m, 900 mhz athlon, v5 5500, their are a few other games that are like that too. like midnight gt. fifa 2001.I just dont get it. If anyone can help let me know.

At first, I thought you were CPU limited, but you should be getting higher than 35fps at 640x480 with a 900mhz Athlon.

Perhaps driver misconfiguration? Have you tried the lastest V5 betas?

I get the same problem with NHL 2001. I thought I was CPU limited (got a Celeron 433 o/c to 520). But from other people on the net, I'm beginning to think that EA Sports is turning out games that just aren't very optimized.

bdog, madden 2001 runs fastest on a GTS, and changing the resolution doesn't change much speed wise on a V5. Solution? Turn on the FSAA. That game is so sweet with FSAA.

Yeah have tried it with fsaa and without and looks hell of lot better with. I just had a gforce 2 pro in here and did same thing so I think it is the game but the v5 does get higher then the pro did, but only cause the pro didnt work on my mb. I am thinking about getting new duron 1gighz system and mb and scraping this old k7m. Was hoping there was a secret to getting it to run faster. Just dont make since that a game on my mx, v5, and pro dont see any change in fps between 640x res and 1280x res. Maybe I am just to picky, but I hate how when all players on screen it only gets 25 fps untill the play gets going on a pass it goes up to about 55 fps but if it is a run stays about 25 or 30 and notice the choppyness bad. Kind of pisses me off seems nba live and madden every year even though I got the best video card dont seem to run fast enough with all detail on. I would be totaly happy if it was just sit at darn 45 to 50 fps all the time like consols to . madden on psx2 run so smooth compared to this and heck my pc cost twice as much if not more. Guess I will keep playing nfl2k1 and nba 2k1 since they are far better.
