I need help installing raid card drivers during winXP install

I boot from the xp cd, then press F6 to load the drivers I copied to a floppy disk. but it just keeps asking for the floppy disk and asking me to press enter. is there a special format for the drivers I need to do?

it's a 3ware 8500-4 escalade raid card BTW

sounds like the drivers or the .inf file isn't there... make sure you have all the proper files and in the proper directory structure as per the .inf file.

The last time I used an F6 floppy, there had to be a couple generic files at the top level and then a folder containing the OS-specific drivers. That was a while ago, and it was with a Promise card I think, but you might want to double-check 3ware's instructions and make sure you're following them to the letter.

well it turns out I had a bad floppy drive...it was old so on ahunch I swapped it out an presto it works...of course as soon as I installed one drive went bad

so I am trying the install again.
