Okay I just built this system about a month ago. It is
Amd Athlon T-Bird 1.4ghz
2 60gb hd's IBM 60gxp with Raid config 0 stripping
Epox 8k7a mobo
512mb of pc2100 crucial ram
visontek nvidia geforce 3 graphics card
sblive value sc in it now because my phillips accoustic sucked, didn't work right

that should be all you need to know. Okay the problem I'm having is alot of programs crash on me. Even IE or anything for that matter quite often. At first when i get the computer up and running and i mean after a format, It runs fine for a few days or about a week, then once i will get the blue screen of death, then I get that darn this program has generated errors and is being closed by windows. then that error becomes more frequent and more frequent until It happens every 3 or 4 minutes. Which means I cannot run any programs! And after it gets so bad After i restart my computer My computer will not boot into windows and i will get an error saying inaccesable boot drive. Which forces me to format, but the last time i tried to do that I had all kinds of issues and it would not format properly. So after this happend I got fed up with trying to fix it myself and i took it to a computer tech store, paid them to fix it. they put windows back in for me and now 3 days later, its all happening to me again! Man this sucks it's like i waisted my money for them to fix it in the first place! But when this thing goes down, for the life of me I can't figue out how to fix it, let alone fix this problem for good. I just custom built this machine and spent some big money on it! Please somone help me! Also once in a while while the computer is running a program If i don't get the generated errors thing I will get a blue screen of death that says something about a page fault in a non writeable area I think. Anyways I don't want this thing to go under again. because when it did it after the 1st week of this being built, It has been out for 3 weeks. and just about 3 days ago i just got it back from the store and running again. Man will i be upset if it does this again!

Did you try it with your HD's in a non-raid configuration? Just plain old master-slave setting? If you try it, and you don't get any crashes, then it may be your raid-controller.

1) After you installed your mobo/CPU/HSF, did you install just your memory and post? Then the monitor, etc. - one at a time?
2) What OS are you running?
3) After you formatted and installed your OS, what drivers did you install - and in what order?
4) Did you first try running one hard drive only?
5) If so, did you remove the first hd and then run with the second drive by itself?

I didn't do the re-install of the OS the ppl at computer connection did that, and as for putting 1 thing in at a time, well the problem does not come up until about a few days later, so I'm not sure. So far nothing has happend yet but i think it may be Max payne that corrupts my computer because the game just exits to the desktop for no reason at all at rondom times. the first time my comp died on me was after i played that game.

I'll assume that everything was installed correctly for right now. The other thing you mentioned were page faults which can occur because:

The virtual memory system becomes unstable due to a shortage of RAM.
The virtual memory system becomes unstable due to a shortage of free disk space.
The virtual memory area is corrupted by a misbehaving application.
An application attempts to access data that is being modified by another running application.

Right now, I'd look at the RAM or some program you've installed which is causing the problem. Check your RAM - make sure each stick is okay.

If your RAM is okay, look at the programs you've installed and check out Microsoft's tech pages. Also check out Max Payne's web site for any issues w/Win2k.

Edit: Forgot your thread title so ignore my what OS do you have <duh>..
Nothing like reading everything..

Also, try posting in software forum - seems like your problem is tied to Max Payne (I'm assuming no RAM upgrade in the month that you've had your rig).
