i need help.... in almost everyway... but right now i just need/want partitioning help

I have been trying to install linux for the past 2 weeks.... i think i finally got it... but have no idea how to us it... and it still has lots! of problems.... so i am just going to get rid of it.. and install it on an old pos... and learn the way of linux there..... anyhow back to the problem... before installing linux i had 2 partitions.... C (7 gigs) and D (6 gigs)... i had a 13 gig hdd and was only running 1 OS, and the partitions filled up the hdd (no room for linux partition).... so when installing linux it had me change the sizes for my partitions to make way for the linux swap and ext2.... so i lowered D from 6 gigs to 4 gigs.... then made the ext2 partition 1.8 gigs and the swap 200 megs..... i and went on with the installation.... i played wiht linux for awhile trying to get it to boot... but when i finally gave up and came back to windows... i noticed that my second fat32 partition was gone..... i ran partition magic ( i have winme ) and it wouldn't even open up... it said my hdd had a bunch of errors and asked me if i wanted to fix them.... of course i said yes... went threw 4 or 5 of these... then ran into a disk geometry error... and all you could click was ok and it would quit PM.... so then i played with lunix so more... still not being able to get it to work... i decided to reinstall it..... i reinstalled linux and when it came back to that partitioning part i decided to change the size of some of the partitions to see if i couldn't get my D drive back.....i lowered the swap to only 100 megs and added that 100 megs to the d drive.... now partition PM will load up... but it can't differanciate from the ext2 swap and second fat32 partitions.... now down to the bottem line... is there any way to save my d partition... i have about 4 gigs of dl on there that i would like to save..... is there any way to go about doing this.... i was thinking just delete the ext2 partition and swap partition.. and then make my second fat32 partiton the same size it was before the whole linux thing.... but i don't know how to go about doing that... sense PM can't differanciate from the 3 partitions..... anyhow i need help... and any advice you can offer would be GREATLY apprecated..... thx
