While playing some emulators I was trying to think of this shooter game for the SNES. It was a TOP-DOWN view and I went through a bunch of lists of games to find names that might seem right cause I think I'd recognize it if I seen it. For some reason I think Darius Twin or Force but it is defnitely not Darius Twin. IIRC, the game was a space game, not like actual military, it was 2player, and had a lot of powerups, ala Gradius 3 IIRC. Gradius 3 is cool but it's not it. Any ideas??

Yeah, R-Type.

Yeah, R-Type was a top-down, 2-player game with losts of powerups.

Nope, none of those. It was a top down and you moved in the upwards direction (like rather than the right for R-type it looks like it).

I don't remmeber any of the powerups... maybe a warp or something?

sure its SNES?

The best space fighter game ever was on NES and it was ZANAC. Top down with lots of powerups.

Nope none of those. Not Axelay either.

It must be SNES, because it was definitely better than any of the NES games I've tried.

Dude yeah man, Strike Gunner is HOT. I love how you get to pick from that uber-list of special weapons at the start of each mission :D and how the 2nd player, if you merge, fired that swivel-canon. And the planes they flew look like F-14s on the start-screen
