Hello all. I would like to ask if anyone knows whether or not a program exests that will alow me to upconvert a picture, provided its possible. Alow me to explain, say that I have copied a picture off a web page that has a resolution of 800 * 600 @ 159kb, now I want to take that same picture and create a 1600 * 1200 or higher @ say about 4mb. The reason I ask this is my work uses a HP 5000 series banner printer. They want to take a picture off the web that is not allready supplied to us( most of the ones we do have to work with are very high resolution and no less than about 2.5mb) and put it on a banner for sales purposes. The problem is that the picture that they have when printed on the banner resized to whatever it is that they where wanting, it turned out horribly. There was major pixilation. Anyway just thought I would ask as someone might know. Thanks in advance.

We won't mention the fact that your company is probably breaking copyright laws.

Depending on the file type, probably .JPG - you are going to get major pixilation resize an image to 2 times its size and printing it off of a high res printer.

There are certian filters in photo editing programs that can help get rid of the pixilation, but to resize a low-res JPG without any is, well, impossible.

not necessarily true. If his company gets a permission from the website, then I think thats legit.

If they have permission to use it, why not get the original .psd/.png and work from that instead of a static .jpg ??
