My mom lost the use of her right arm completely since her stroke awhile back. She has tried to remain as independent as possible and I encourage her to do so as long as she isnt endangering herself.

Anyway, I am looking for a cheese grater that she can use easily without too much trouble. Right now she has to hold the grater itself between her legs by her knees while she grates the cheese block with her only usable arm. She also sometimes cuts herself on the hand that is holding the cheese when her fingers and knuckles get close to the grater.

Any ideas or stores where I could find some stuff to suit this need?

TIA guys:)

Yes, here's something I can really help with.

Anyway, I use a motorized cheese grater, rechargable.

Its called a "Delonghi Cucina" Let me see if they have a website.

EDIT: Found it. Link Go under Products/Food Processors

I think Hexx's choice is a good solution.. I was looking for one that clamped onto a table and alowed you to turn a handle but it required you to apply pressure on the top aswell. Good luck in finding one, as an industrial designer I'm always interested in finding out about these sort of things.

This is an interesting topic to bring up as I just got one for my mom for the holidsay. I got her the black and decker gizmo one from target for $18 on sale. It is cordless and electric. It has a place where u put the cheese, and u just press the button and it grates. Voila!

I don't think they offer local pickup :(

CC says, "Not available in stores," w/ a red x.

That sucks because the price is right and she could have picked up locally.

/me takes another swig of Pepsi on the rocks.

No, she couldn't RossMAN, the link you provided said it was OOS online & locally.

She could have picked it up locally if it were available to pickup, which it isn't (as indicated by the red x).

Have (another) on me.

I didn't "sign in" either, it's pretty damn clear from the product description that you cannot order online or pickup locally.

I was just stating that IT WOULD BE NICE if it were available for local pickup (which it isn't). What's wrong with that wishful/hopeful statement?

Hypothetical situation. Let's say your local grocery store is OUT OF cornflakes, as in they are not available for local pickup. What if you received the third degree by store employees or fellow customers after stating "I wish cornflakes were in stock"?

Correct me if I'm wrong ;) but don't you sign most of your posts with Cheers  and even have  in your sig?

Who pissed in your conflakes today?

Store locator there are several locations in Colorado.

If the OP decides to buy from LNT B&M, I have a spare 20% off coupon you're welcome to have?

Please accept my apologies for the attempted thread jacking, it wasn't intentional (at least not on my part).

20% off $19.99 is only $4 but a deal is a deal.
