Specs:

Pentum 166
Supermicro non-MMX mobo, with 6 SIMM slots
128MB of EDO RAM
Realtek NIC, 10/100
Dual 6.4GB Maxtor hard drives
No CDROM
ATI 8MB PCI video, Xpert98
Yamaha sound card, 16bit ISA
Winmodem, LT
AT case, with pull out tray and card holder
230W PS

Possible inclusion of Voodoo or Voodoo II card, I have both...

What do you guys think? I hate shipping stuff, and sending this as parts will be hell for me. I don't like shipping big things, but it's easier...

I'm looking around, and as a package maybe $200? Too much?

Well.....$200 doesn't sound bad....until we compare it to the emachines from Hot Deals for $300 plus tax. I dunno. It looks like used EDO SIMMS go for ~$50 - $65 for (2) 32's. I'm assuming you have (4) 32's. and....the Maxtor's will be 5400rpm/33. so....you could probably get ~$50 to $65 ea. for them. Prices are from The Bay.

Now....if it is Socket 7 and would support K63 (dual voltage)......then, yeah $200 or more. I s'pose someone might give more, just to part it out. So, I've been a buncha help eh? Sorry. I am going thru the same thing. New pcs are just too bloody cheap.

put in in the local paper(free on if you got one!) and sell it local...no shipping at all!
$200 is fine for it!

I would think that 200 would be fine, and I agree to try to sell it locally, then you can either deliver or have someone pick it up. It would probably move at that price, possibly a little more, but I would say no more than $250.

I think $200 is too generous. When you have a newer system, you can basically add up the some of the parts, but on an older system, you really can't. Consider what I have:

Pentium 200MMX
Dell/Intel mobo (430FX)
64MB EDO RAM
Netgear NIC, 10/100
15GB Fireball Plus LM ATA66
Promise Ultra66
Teac 6x
Voodoo3 3000 PCI
SB AWE32 ISA
USR 56K
Floppy
AT case with 230W

I think I'd be pressed to get $200 for that...I'd probably part out the hard drive and video and sell the rest for about $100. The biggest reason for depressed prices is that newer, faster systems are so cheap today.

I just got a PII 233 w/ 32 meg ram and 2.5 gig hdd for 169.oo CND,(about 110 USD) from a store no less. You'd be better off selling it as parts.

mithrandir2001--Why don't you pop a K63 or K63+ in that pc? How many MB is the vid card? Is that a good card? I've only got a 16MB Guiellemot Banshee that is not nvda....well...I don't count my ATI cards.
