I am looking for a quality case that is good for cooling or provides the option for good cooling.

I need it to be under $200.

Right now, I am really considering the Thermaltake Armor w/ a 25cm side fan, but I really dont need that many drive bays.

At most I will have 2 Hard Drives an 1 Optical Drive, so I dont need 10 Bays.

I am looking for something spacious that is easy to work with, but I dont know that it needs to be as big as the armor.

I will need to be able to fit a Tuniq Tower though, as that is my preferred method of cooling.

I REALLY WANT SUGGESTIONS. IF YOU HAVE A COMMENT OR SUGGESTION, PLEASE MAKE ONE.

Coolermaster Stacker. Preferably the 830. Otherwise pretty much anything Silverstone is nice.

If you like the 250mm fans the Enermax Chakra is a good candidate. It retails for around $70. If you buy two of the Enermax Enlobal fans for it its a very good airflowing case that keeps things nice and cool and it runs very very quiet. The fans will run you about $10 each so your total investment without shipping is about $90 or so. Its big enough to take a hsf like the 9500 and it'll also house a nice size psu. I installed a Seasonic S12 600w psu in mine with plenty of room. If you are looking for a good cooling mid-tower case at a reasonable price the Enermax Chakra derseves a look at. I reccomend it.

The dimensions look pretty standard...At 8.1in wide that is 207mm....Tuniq should fit....

Even if a bit cramped the idea of venting at the top where the heat usually gets trapped is nice...

I think I am going to try one of those cases with the 25cm fan....Probably with my scythe mine...It is shorter then the ninjas with the 120mm fans...

I am in the final stages of modding an Antec 900 case. With a little imagination you can hide wires extremely well. I'll try to post pics sometime soon. Although not as roomy as my previous SuperMicrro monster full tower case, it cools very well and looks good doing it. It is also much quieter.

I always say cases are a personal preference thing, but i will say i have a preference for anything but Antec :p
Here's a little 900 review...or rant maybe ;)

BTW i bought the Armor 8000 for the very reason you don't need:
lots of HDD bays & space to add another iCage for even more HDD bays.
Realistically, 9 max (or six w/o the extra iCage) :D
Now that's ideal IMHO.

The Armor is very easy to work in; tons of space.
Save for the PSU/HDDs being a little bit of a pain to swap in & out after already building the system.

Airflow isn't the best on mine, but i don't have the side 25 cm fan panel on mine, since that came out after.

I'm going to be switching the fans to some Noctua 120s & Nexus 92s for attempted total silence, but i will say even the included fans are very quiet.

I like my Antec P180, but I've heard it doesn't fit large video cards (though it does indeed fit my AGP 6800GT), and it was a bit cramped to work with. Routing the power cables was annoying; maybe a modular PSU would have helped.

However, once that's all said and done, I have a pretty quiet, sleek looking case, and temperatures are fine with all fans on low.

EDIT: PUS -> PSU

Thanks for the link! Just wait til you see mine ... It looks nothing like that. No fancy lights or anything, just very clean inside.

I agree that cases are a personal choice, and I respect your choice of Armor. The Armor is very sharp. In fact it was that case the wetted my appetitie to update my old beige monster.

The only thing I wish is that the internal fan in the Antec 900 could be used even if you have drives in both cages. If you only have three drives, you're fine. But if you have 4-6, you give up being able to mount the extra fan on the back of the drive cage. It would have been cool to have a push/pull fan design on the drive cages. But no.

I am putting the finishing touches on my install tonight, and hope to do a writeup with some pictures later in the week. Stay tuned ...

Is there a FAQ or something that explains how to post inline pictures?

Sadly, anandtech forums have no way for regular users to include inline pictures.

For now we're stuck linking to other forums for photo-reviews.

AnandtechDeals can do it with this code, but it errors for us lowly forum users:

I like my SuperLanboy case, efficient design with 2x120mm, tons airflow, and best of all, the blue LCD for the front 120mm fan is cool. Also it's got a side window that just shows off my PC. It ain't cheap when you don't got rebates to go with it tho.

My suggestion would be to make this thread in the Cases & Cooling category.
