I need help buying some barcode scanning equipment

After some investigating, I think all I need are a few CCD barcode scanners. I don't think I'll need laser barcode scanners because it's for some really simple data collection. However, I don't know what are the reputable online stores and I don't know what are the reputable brands. I don't need anything special, just a durable, low-cost barcode scanner that can read the major barcode formats. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
I don't know about low-cost, but for all jobs that involve good caliber scanners, bar code readers, etc., I shop at All Things POS. All the brands that they carry are well known.

What type of data collection will you be doing?
