i agree if she plans on working legally she will have to get some sort of visa. that site is alil confusing to me,it says if u live in canada already and would like to apply for a citizenship. so does that mean she could just live here and apply/

Yes there is 2 ways to apply for immigration.

Most people apply for a visa prior to enter Canada, but some apply while within the country.

I had a close English friend that apply while she was in Canada. Her boyfriend/husband had to prove that he have an income of 36k per year to sponsor her.

Is she a student? Can she get a job? I am quite sure that the process is probably very similar or exactly the same to moving to US from canada, which I did last year. Here is a list of jobs that qualify her for TN visa status. She cannot legally go to Canada and look for work and then apply for this; in fact nobody is supposed to legally move to either country and then look for work (Pretty sure - I could be wrong). So either she gets a job first remotely that qualifies on that list or she goes to Canada as a student and gets in on a student visa.

Obviously we need more information to even begin to offer advice.

1) How old is she?
2) Does she have a degree?
3) Work experience?
4) Is she trying to get a job or a student visa?
5) Is she moving there to marry you?

BTW one cannot move to either country and just apply for citizenship. Once you've been in a country legally under the correct visa guidelines (for instance I'm in the US on a TN visa - this doesn't qualify me for any time towards citizenship) you have to wait a minimum of 5 years I believe. Until then you cannot stay in either country without a valid visa.

Well this is only a spring board - you really should look at some various immigration sites or better yet consult an immigration lawyer who can definitely point you in the right direction. I'm sure there will be a way for it to get worked out.

Its possible to marry people outside of the US.

What do you think the mail-order brides business all about? ;)
