OK. I was set to buy a Gainward 750/XP, but it looks like the Dual DVI version has been discontinued...

SO, I am noticing that PNY has a lot of Dual DVI options in their Quadro4 line. What I'd like to know is whether these cards will behave just like the consumer line when it comes to games, etc. I am considering the following cards...

Quadro4 980 XGL: http://www.pny.com/quadro/products/Prodtemplate.cfm?prodType=980
Quadro4 900 XGL: http://www.pny.com/quadro/products/Prodtemplate2.cfm?prodType=900

I think the only difference is 8x AGP vs. 4x AGP. Can anyone help me out with some recommendations? I'm trying to drive 2 20" LCD monitors.

Thanks!!

I'd make a serious effort to locate the Gainward card. I really like mine, and my dual Dell 2000FP panels.

Other options are, as you mentioned, the Quadro4 cards. I've never seen any gaming benchmarks on them, though.
Then, there's the Parhelia. Slow, but excellent image quality.
ATI FireGL X1 is another option.
The new QuadroFX cards can drive the panels like you want, but they're very expensive.
3Dlabs has their Wildcat cards, and at least one of them has the dual-DVI outputs.
Gainward says that they plan to release a GeForceFX card with dual-DVI outputs.

That's about it.

You wouldn't believe the efforts I've been trying... I've even started calling the national distributors. No one can find these danged cards. All that is left is the new 8X version which is a single DVI out.

If ANYone knows of a store with one in stock, PLEASE tell me where it is!!!!

900XGL for $550

We use 900XGLs in 9 computers at work hooked up to dual Viewsonic 201mb monitors. It works great, most of the time. Occasionally we get corruption on the screen. Resizing from 1600x1200 to 1280x1024 and back again fixes it. I have no idea why it happens, though I suspect thermal issues. It is more of an annoyance (~1 per week per 9 computers) than anything.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! I found someone selling theirs used, so I am good to go now on a 750XP DDVI.

I got the Geforce4 MX 440 based version of the Asus and returned it the next day. As expected, DVI was great (and it had dual DVI-I), but the VGA out of the thing was absolute crap. Don't plan to use any VGA monitor with it, or you'll go blind. :p
