I need down-leaning Hard Drive cables

I have an HDD and a SSD where the place you plug the cords into them is at the back of the case, with only like an inch between them and the back of the case. The cables I have that plug into them are the horizontal kind, which take up almost all that space, and then you have to bend the cord downwards really violently to make it fit within the case. It was so hard to fit, it actually broken the wires on one of the cables.

What I'm looking for are good cables where instead of the cable going horizontal into the end of the cable thing that plugs into the hard drives, it has a cable that comes up from underneath into the thing that plugs in. Like instead of a cable like this, where the plug thing is on the left and the equals signs are the cord....

I want one like this... And ignore the ..'s on the left they are just for spacing.

Hopefully that makes sense. I don't remember what kind of cable exactly but it goes from hard drives to the PSU I think, either that or to the mobo, I really don't know. I never knew the names of the cables they just came with all the stuff. As for length, not sure about that either. Can anyone point me to what those kind of cable heads are called where the cable comes from underneath and it's designed fit at the back of cases?

Right angle cables are available at just about every online shop. There are lots of varieties and several different types. Make sure you get the exact one you need.

Thank you very much! My problem is I want to use the computer in the meantime as is, but it was very difficult getting the back of the case to close last time, so I'm wary about opening it up again to check. Do you know if a sata cable is definitely what I need, sata to sata? I think one was like a 6pin or 8pin going from the PSU to sata or something? Damn you know I think I'm just going to have to open it back up.

Could you tell me the difference between a right angle and left angle cable though? They both look the same to me, you just turn it the other way no? A left angle is a right angle, just pointing the other way. So you turn the cable around and now it's a right angle... I guess not? What's the difference?

It's the way the end is oriented. Think about if you mounted the hard drive upside down. For the flat cable, you'd just turn it over. For the angled cable, you'd want to get one oriented the other way. Down versus up.

I bought the wrong ones myself. It's confusing.
I ended up buying both types and using the ones that worked. Both are really right angle cables.

You just need the sata to sata data cables.

Though the angled power adapters can be convenient, too.

The SATA cables can only be plugged in one way. You cannot flip them. Therefore, you need to determine which direction they need to bend and choose the correct cable.

Yes. I should have clarified that. The connectors are keyed.

With a flat cable, you just turn it so it matches, but with the angled cables, you need to buy the correct one for the way you need the cable to lay.

Okay well if the case is facing you, the front of the case, then the cable needs to plug into the PSU going right to left into the PSU at the bottom left of the case, your left facing the case, and so the cable would go from the PSU at the bottom left to the right and away from you, out the cable management whole towards the back up of the case, then upwards and to the right, upper right of the case, and then the input for the hard drives is at the upper right of the case facing directly away from you, so the cable would need to go to that upper right like I said and then the input needs to face you to connect into the hdds connectors which face away from you.

So I think if you were doing it flat on the floor, you would want the cable going into the PSU on the left horizontal to the floor and then the sata connector on the other end, still horizontal to the floor, would have the tip of the cable, the connector, facing up to the ceiling.

Same thing with the mobo to sata. If the mobo were flat on the floor, the side going into the mobo would need to face down towards the mobo on the floor, and the other end into the sata would need to face up towards the ceiling.

In this case (and in most other cases) "right angle" means a 90 degrees angle.

Yes but the "left angle" cable also looks like a right angle, just to the left lol. It looked the exact same to me as the right angle cable, just photographed from the other side.

"Left angle" is a stupid name and should not be used. An angle can not be "left" or "right" (using right and left words as relative directions here).

Both are right angle cables. It's just the way the connector is oriented.

I believe the end on the right is the one they call a "left angle".

You can see that if you pick the wrong end, it would not work on some motherboards with the SATA connectors on the side of the board.

It's just a question of which way you need the cable to "point".

Or, you can turn the SSD around so that the end with the plugs is pointing towards the front of the case. That might give you more room. Or try to find another location for the drive. Given that you haven't provided us with any info on the hardware involved, or even pictures, it's hard to provide you with more help.
