I want to buy Playstation Portables for three children this year but I am having some difficulty deciding what to buy. I can't get the "Entertainment Pack" that is out there for $249 because the movie that's included isn't suitable for the kids. Is there a store somewhere that sells PSP packs similar that are suitable for children?
I'd rather not spend more than $250 per system. I love that the Entertainment Pack comes with a 1 GB memory card but the game and movie are just not something I think the kids should have or want.

Children? You think about a DS Lite at all? Probably more child friendly games for it..

These kids are used to playing games on the Nintendo gamecube, PS2 and Xbox. Won't they find the graphics on the DS kind of outdated and "lame" ? I really want them to be happy with what i get them.

The PSP isn't that great is kinda outdated

Its not worth the value anymore. You can get a nice used package for a great price though.

Get them a Wii then

I just started checking out some videos and screen captures of some of the DS games on IGN and they are not as bad as I expected. I may very well choose the DS over the PSP. I do like the fact that it's more durable in younger hands too.

The PSP's 3d is very clunky, the loading times make it worse along with the single joystick making it hard to navigate a 3d enviroment other than a racing game. DS is simple and fun, the graphics are ok (think N64 2.0)

For kids, the DS hands down.

I own both and for kids the DS will be a hit.

Nintendogs
Brain games
Mario Games

Plus the whole selection of GBA games will pop in it and play.

I wish I had all the hours I wasted playing Lumines on the PSP, damn that game was addicting.

I was just reading that on the Nintendo DS the kids can all play some games together even if only one of them has the game (like Mario Kart DS). Is that true?

DS is much better for playing games... many more good games, and better battery life. Screen is less likely to get all scratched up due to the clamshell design, too.

Ok guys, I'm going to go with the Nintendo DS. Now to decide on which games to buy the kids. Since I'll probably buy each kid a couple games since the DS is so much cheaper than the PSP. I have to buy games for two boys and one girl. I was thinking about maybe buying Nintendogs for the girl. Any suggestions for two boys under 10 years old would be appreciated. I am probably going to buy at least one copy of Mario Kart. I love that the kids can play together even if only one of them has the game. It should make Christmas very fun for them this year.

Best DS Games, In Order Of Score

I'd get Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros., Brain Age, Mario & Luigi, Castlevania.
