I need car audio help.

What are some good speakers? I went to some stores and listened to a bunch, but through experience I realized Best Buy and most of the other retailers don't exactly carry the whole line. I got a change to listen to some JL Audio 10w7 subs at Tweeter, and I think I'm going to install two of those. So now I'm looking for speakers. I found the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 components which I liked, but they seem to be lacking in the mid-bass area. Anyone think that the subs would make up for this? Or anyone have any reccomendations?

I also have now discovered the Diamond Audio D971 and the Diamond Audio D661s.
 
Look for a dedicated car audio forum. I think you'd have better luck.

In my old car, I had a pair of 8"s that I used to give my components a little extra punch.

There is nothing a yahoo's opinion like myself can make.

In general it all depends on how much you want to spend and what's important to you. I suggest going to a specialty shop as best buy carries crap in terms of audio. Bottom of the barrel stuff, it's all pretty much crap.
 
Thanks for the advice. I was surfing car audio forums, but I really don't feel like signing up lol. I was browsing the threads and they mostly had to do with problems and stuff. I think I'm going to hit up Tweeter today, that's where I found the subs I want.
 
sup arjun! this is steveo adam's friend / used to work at CSD with you... do you still have the carpc?

anyway... mb quart, infinity, and blaupunkt have the best speakers that i've heard myself lately...

I just picked up the Blaupunkt VX650's myself for the front/tweeters with blaupunkt vc662 for the rears... they are like mini subs these things... I haven't installed them yet (hoping to do that in ~2 weeks) but I have heard 2 people who have the 650's installed and they sounded good enough to sway my opinion
