Okay...serious answer.

Guapo: what's your budget like? I can recommend plenty of shorts from $15 to $150.

im thinking anything under 40.00 or so..

and also, related to bikes.. im thinking of getting a set of mechanical disk brakes just so i dont have to deal with screwing up my rims with mod and grime being stuck in my brake pad.. if my fork/bike doesnt have a disk mount, is this even possible? can i get some kind of adapter?

Alrighty, here's what I could find offhand. Sorted from cheap to expensive.

Performance Classic Short: $25 Cheap, but lighter-weight lycra won't last as long and you generally get a cheaper chamois (the padding) with cheaper shorts. You also might not like how "naked" you feel in 5oz lycra....it's pretty light.

Performance Century Short: $35 Heavier 8.5 oz lycra and nicer chamois.

Voler Team Shorts: $35 These are regularly $50, but you can get $15 off if you join their monthly specials mailing list. Voler is pretty much all I buy any more since I ride so much that I hate to spend $100 on a pair of shorts only to destroy them in a year. These are great shorts for the money and extremely comfortable (I should know since I put about 200+ miles per week on mine).

Voler Team Bib Shorts: $55 Same thing as the regular shorts, but with built-in suspenders instead of a waistband. Feel kinda strange at first, but are extremely comfortable once you get used to them.

Pearl Izumi Ultrasensor Short: $80 Very well-made short that will last forever. Chamois is specially molded for comfort. Lycra has a funky weave with moisture-wicking properties to keep you cooler and dryer. These are a "pro-level" short. They tend to fit people with a slimmer overall build well in my experience as well.

I'd go for the Voler shorts in that case. They are absolutely the best bang for the buck under $40.

Hmmm....not that I'm aware of. Most of the newer forks have the disc mounts on them already, but I don't know of any good way to retrofit these to older forks short of having the mounts welded onto your frame. Not a cheap option.
