I need an MP3 player

Bateluer

Lifer
That will allow me to take it running. Playing WMA files is also a necessity.

I was looking at the 128MB Creative Nomad MuVo. Any suggestions?

I have heard good things about the MuVo...plus it acts like a USB Flash drive too!...does it play WMA then?

Well the MuVi is pretty much a Medium sized USB Flash Drive with a battery back...I think it would fit the bill.

I have an Archos Jukebox 6000 MP3 player (hard drive based)...you can hang that around your neck....but you strangle yourself, which is a downer....😉

Hmmm...meant to edit....ah well.

Theres a new MuVo coming out soon.
Its called the MuVo NX.
Its available in 128mb and 256mb version, is exactely the same size as the original MuVo, as a backlit LCD screen, and a build in microphone for voice recording.

Bump, I really need a second opinion on this.

Take a look at iRiver's mp3 players... they are roughly the same size as Creative's MuVo, but prettier... Link

I don't know about price, but it shouldn't be too much more. You can check it out at local computer store (compusa or BB)

Medium sized?
Have you seen them in person?, They`re tiny. Really really small. A lighters bigger.
They`re about the same size as two AA batteries stuck together.

Second vote for the new iRiver playes. They are totally DOPE! Up to 512MB memory, radio statio tuner, can be used as a USB drive, great quality...definitely my next purchase. My coworker has the 256MB version and man am I jealous.

Including the battery pack or just the memory stick bit? I have seen some really tiny USB flash drives from PQI that aren't much bigger than say a few SD/MMC cards stuck together...that's why I said medium sized...saw one a few months back but didn't do a thorough examination 😉

Ever consider a cd-r based mp3 player? There are quite a few decently priced ones out there too.

I got one of those actually, as well as a Jukebox 2. But the Mp3 CD player not only skimps when pounding the track, its fairly bulky. Pounding the track is specifically warned against in the Jukebox 2's manual.

I am going to have to go out to Best Buy this weekend and see what them iRivers can do exactly.

Does anyone here know any where in the UK that sells the iRivers? They seem quite a bit better than the MuVos, and about the same as a MuVo NX.

Get the iRiver. Not much bigger or heavier than the 1 AA battery that it runs on. MP3, WMA, FM/AM tuner, voice recording, you can even encode MP3's from the radio with it. USB interface, good design, and a really cool looking display. Uses flash memory so you don't have to worry about skips. I have the 128 MB version and my only complaint with it is that I didn't get the 256.

Cool....I retract the medium then and replace it with small....may have to pick me up one of those instead of the plain 128mb flash drive...although...much more expensive.

If you wait a bit, theres a new range of MuVos coming out. Called the MuVo NX. They are the same size as standard MuVo, with 128mb or 256mb of memory, with a LCD screen, and voice recorder.
Heres a link. They look very cool.

Another vote for iRiver, I've got the 128MB version and also wish i had splurged on the 256. Otherwise, no complaints.
