Hi everyone,

I've been looking for a monitor for a while, and I think I've decided that I want a 20+" widescreen (1680x1050, probably), but there seems to be a lot of not-very-good panels and very few very-good panels, and maybe not a lot in between...

For example, I've read that the TN panels don't do a great job of representing colors, but are cheap and fast. IPS panels are usually of a higher quality, but are harder to find and more expensive.

I know that the viewsonic VX2025WM was a decent looking panel for the price, but I know it had some input problems. Now that that is discontinued, are there any more decently priced non-TN panels that look good and work for gaming, yet are less than $600? Thanks...

Dell 2007wfp? I have one, got an S-IPS thankfully, but you could always end up with S-PVA, which is lower quality.

Well, I don't like the idea of paying one amount of money for two different displays; one better, one worse. I may just try my luck and order one, hoping to get the S-IPS one...

What about panels that use P-MVA or S-PVA? (I don't really know which panel types are better, but I would like to know that I am getting my money's worth from the display)

At Newegg, Sceptre has a 20" widescreen panel for $200 that's an 8-bit P-MVA panel, I believe the same one used in the Viewsonic you mentioned. It looks like a good deal for a decent panel.

hmmm I will check both of these out. Thanks.

It's too bad that there are no reviews for these screens, and since there is so much choice in this category, I doubt very many people here have the same monitors....

Do you know of any 20.1" monitors that are on par with the performance/price of the late vx2025wm? That is basically my only question...
