I need an AGP 1.0 compliant video card!

I got this old machine with an Epox P55-VP3 motherboard, K6-200 processor, and want to finally use the AGP port. I tried installing an Aopen PA256 GeForce2 MX video card, but get no output to the monitor, and some strange beeps on boot-up. I flashed the BIOS and installed the latest VIA Apollo AGP drivers, but the nice folks at Epox tell me that I need an AGP 1.0 compliant video card. I'm assuming I need to buy some kind of "legacy" video card.

The system is fine with the old S3/Diamond Speedstar PCI video card in it, I just want something a little more snappy in case I ever get the computer networked with my other system. What's out there for a reasonable cash outlay (less than $50)?

This is my initial post on this board, so please be gentle with me!

FNG's, whattaya gonna do with 'em?

I wouldn't want to run too powerful of a vid card in that machine cause the bottleneck will be the cpu. If I'm not mistaken, a TNT2/Ultra should be legacy 1.0 AGP(they do 1x and 2x agp) so this might be a good combo for with your K6200 machine. I should expect you to be able to find a 16meg/32meg card for around $35US or less.

Thanks for the reply, Mavrick007. I've been doing some research into this, and may monkey around with the BIOS settings some more, or try to force something down Windows Registry's fault. I don't want to toss this video card, which is just over a year old, and cost me $130. I guess I could always put it in my computer at work.
