My story goes like this,

i sold my PS2 on e*ay, the person paid for it +2% cos i'm using my Dad's Business A/C.

But i could'nt find a receipt, so he does'nt want it and demanded a refund. And have now requested funds of the total he paid plus another 2.2%+0.30 on top of the final payment that i received from him. (that includes the final bid+shipping+2%)

has he the right to make me pay him the extra 2.2%+o.30? is it in the Rules 7 Regulations? he said i charged him 2%, so now he charges me the 2.2%+0.30

pls enlighten me cos i'm quite pissed off right now. And i apologise if i mentioned e*ay cos i know some of you detest the word or place.

And advice would be much appreciated or anyone with the same experience?

I guess if he's entitled to a refund at all, it would be for the full amount he paypaled to you.* Did your auction say it came with a receipt? If not then I don't think that's a valid reason to refuse to follow through.

*Now I understand, the person is wanting to charge you another 2%+.30 because it will cost him that much for the paypal transaction...? To avoid this (assuming you are A-OK with the refund) why not just pay the original amount back via money order?

Yeah, my auction stated that there is a receipt, but then i can't find it.

Ok, i dun mind refunding him the total he paid me, but now he want the extra 2.2%+0.30?? Can he do this, am i suppose to oblige?? is there a Rule/law stating this??

I agree with Yo_Ma Ma. If you refund him, there's no need to do so over PayPal. So, why don't just send him a check or a MO? In the mean time, I would spend time trying to find the receipt.

well, i dun think the receipt will turn up anymore. :)

But since he paid me by paypal, its faster to pay him by paypal too. And he syas he will file fraud charges against me if i don't pay him back.

he has already requested the money through paypal.

So must i pay him the "EXTRA" he demanded?

no you do not have to refund him using paypal. Send him a mo.

case closed. Make a copy of the mo for records in case he tries to play a fast one.

now i get what you guys mean.

But if i am not using a Credit card, he won't be charged 2% and i don't have to pay him the extra, right?

I emailed eGay and they said the refund & return policy is solely my choice. They said they donot interfere in personal conflicts.

Stay away from eb@y?
never!
342 feedback and still goin strongs.
Just gotta watch out for the arse's out there.
I would only refund him the total he sent you:
IE; If he sent you $240 and paypal knocked it down to $230, you pay him $240. Not a penny more.

That's BS. He can't get his money back JUST because you don't have your receipt. I never send them my receipt when I sell on e-Bay. Here is what I think. He may have tried to solder the beta modchip into the PS2, failed, and ruined the unit. Now he wants his money back so he makes up an excuse. It's possible so beware.
