I need advice on ants

Starting about 6 weeks ago, I noticed 10-20 ants in my bathroom. I laid down several Raid bait traps when I left for a vacation a month ago. Now I'm back and I still see 10-20 ants walking around my bathroom.

Any suggestions besides different brands of poison?

Update:

Tried the Terro.

I woke up this morning to find hundreds of ants in my bathroom. There are two big lines of ants heading for the two Terro baits I put down.

I think the 10-20 ants I had earlier was just a continuous feed of scout ants and now they've found something worth getting.

Update 2:

So, after two days. I'm seeing no ants 99% of the time. I checked the bathroom several times and I only saw one ant the whole time. It seemed to be a scout, it was wandering around and not going for the bait.

get some PIC ant control thingers. i had ant problems, got them and the ants were gone almost immediately. the thing is that the the ants take this stuff back to the nest and all the ants eat it and that's how it kills them off.

The Raid stuff was supposed to do that.

lulz - rivan beat me to it.

The liquid ant baits are freakin awesome. Seriously they decimate ant populations. Within days I no longer have a single ant in my house.

My roomie (whose dad owns the house, and have been battling little sugar ants - and I mean massive infestations - whole walls covered with ants, trails along the walls, etc) - had been trying for four years - using raid, those stupid metal round bait things, the honey/epsom trick, etc - nothing at all worked. Shit she even had to cover the peephole in the door to kill the thousands of ants who used the door as their home. THey have a bad Mt. Dew addiction here and tend to be sloppy and leave cans around which attract ants like no tomorrow.

I put out 4 Terros and they were gone by the end of the month.

I found them at Lowes

"Any suggestions besides different brands of poison?"

I know its a different brand, but those Terros actually work, instead of just making Raid richer.

what you do is catch a few, cut off their heads, and leave the heads by the area where you notice the ants are coming in.

that should scare off the others, unless they think its a snack.

well, maybe it's not as effective as this PIC stuff or maybe its for the wrong type of ants?
I just know it worked wonders for me.

I recommend that terro stuff. Just make sure if you have pets they don't get it. Had a close call with a cat...

Try to close off their access point. And clean up any water. That's what they are after in a bathroom.

Hopefully they have encryption turned off. Those anties are smart! ;)

Thats exactly what you want to see. They will take it all back home, and the entire nest will be dead.

Give this stuff a try. The Raid ant baits I bought were untouched, but overnight the entire colony is attacking these Terro baits.

It's always worked for me, and I always recommend it. Very cheap, and probably safer for everyone that could come into contact with it.
Cover entry/exit points with a nice line of baking soda.

I placed them where I saw ants, one on the counter and one near my shower.

Definitely not safe for kids. The stuff inside is a liquid so she could pick it up and pour the poison out.

Were the ants going from outside? If so how did they come in? When I had ants in my bathroom, there was a queen with a nest in my electric shaver.

"There are two big lines of ants heading for the two Terro baits I put down. "

Oh yah, the whole colony will come in. Let it happen, give it time......

Ant death is shortly upon you. Ye shall be known throughout antdom as Leros the Conqueror - and this event shall be known as the Terros Incident. Yea tho ants walk along the path of the Terros, they will eat all the poison-bait. Shortly shall ye be freed of the annoyance of the ant invasion.

Note that my fiancee's mom (who cannot stand any odors at all - and is frightened of any chemicals, would NOT put the baits down that you first tried that didn't work.) was convinced to put down Terro's in her house. The next day she flipped out over the huge amounts of ants that were making a beeline for them - and prematurely chucked em all out - just when the getting was good.

Of course that resulted in every ant in the neighborhood coming in her house and not getting killed. Leave em be.

How would there be room in a shaver? And I assume you weren't using it much?
