I need advice: I want to wash my car

Aimster

I can connect a hose to my garage to get hot water.

The problem is the water is going to flow down my driveway which is on a hill to the middle of the road.

It's a private neighborhood but I have 2 other neighbors that share this road.

Is it OK for me to wash my car early in the morning around 10A.M on a sunny, but freezing (15 degree) day?

I'm hoping by doing it early that there won't be any water left after the sun goes down. Therefore, no ice.

Wait till next week when it warms up a little. It's supposed to break into the thirties here in NY. I was an idiot and tried washing mine last night at one of the self serve car washes. Like an idiot I'm thinking, yeah it'll be good, I'll just rinse the salt off. Then as the water on the car turned to slush and eventually froze, I was like oh yeah, it's below freezing. I am teh dumbass.

15F is tough. At anything below 20F the water seems to freeze when it spreads over the shaded areas and you're stuck with frozen soapy water on your car.

God I used to love that '81 Slowmaro I bought new.

You need this. I wash my whole car with 4 gallons of water in two buckets with that stuff. You can get away with one bucket if you aren't too concerned about micro scratching. You can even do it in a garage and barely get anything wet.
