I sold a WORKING video card to a person on that auction site (you know the one) He sent me an email 10 days after he got the card and told me it would not work. He then later sent me an email and told me there was a piece broken on it. It all sounds fishy to me but I want to know what he says is broken and if it would interfere with the card's ability to work. It is an agp voodoo 5 video card. He says the broken part is , " piece is a capacitor (it`s a little chrome with purple cylinder and is in the back of the card near the power conector)

Would that cause the card to not work and what is it? I doubt all of this myself. I think either he broke it or he has a pentium 4 system and the card will not work in it. He will not tell me what his parts in his computer are. Thanks for your help

If it's the only one on the card then it could and would very well cause instability problems and would not function properly. Chances are that he broke it off himself when installing the card or he wants his money back. How was his rating before you sold him the card? You might have to go through alot of hassle before you are done dealing with this person. Good luck!

His rating was ok but very limited. I would never sell someone something that was broken. I just think he either broke it or it will not work in his system for some reason. I know if he has a pentium 4 it will not even fit. So he could have broke if off trying to get it in. He took a 4 days until he replied to winning the auction and then 10 days to get me the money. He then had this card for 10 days before he said it did not work and at that time there was no mention of a broken part. He said he then took it to an expert and that guy told him it was broken and now he has the piece in his hand. Why did he need an expert to tell him the piece was broken. I think I am going to tell this guy to take the box and the video card to the post office because it was insured. This has been a bad first time auction experience. What would you guys do?

He should have inspected it as soon as he recived it and notified you about broken parts. I don't think you are liable for anything.

Drop fleabay like a hot potato... 😀

Main thing is stay away from the worst place in the world to buy sell or trade... (Fleabay)

With little or no feedback you are at their mercy and now it seems the item is broken (very fishy... 😉 )

Also YHPM...
