I am unsure of what to do in this situation, since I am 90% sure that if I contact this particular reseller, they will do nothing about it, unless they are forced to by a higher authority.

I will not give the name of the reseller at this time because it involves a customer privacy issue. The reseller is already not a respected one, with only a 3 out of 10 on Resellerratings.com. In addition they have a bad record with the BBB.

The issue I speak of allows any customer to log into their account, and view every customers receipt. For example, you log in, and go to view your invoice and by changing the URL to a different number (example orderid=3985632), you can view every other persons invoice.

These invoices include:

Name
Billing Address
Shipping Address
Phone Number
Email Address
Order Number
Order Date
Items Ordered
Sub Total
Shipping
Tax
Total
Type of Credit Card Used
The last 4 digits of the credit card

I just can't believe how irresponsible this company is, what should I do?

IMHO, BBB and FTC dosent do anything until there is a pile of complaints a mile high and a huge pubilc outcry. I think you're on a lost cause.

jamison, first try contacting the reseller making sure to note in your message to them that if they do not address the problem you will contact the press, that "pressure" might work, hope this helps :)

Oh, and when I mean press something along the lines of The Register or The Inquirer should work nicely :)
