I need a used laptop

I'm thinking of buying a used laptop from eBay. Which laptop would you recommend and for how much. I don't want to pay more than $300. Is a refurbished laptop recommended? I don't know if I'm asking for too much, but Centrino would be good, as well as being lightweight.

you could probably find a T40 in that price range. i have one. it shows its age sometimes but for the most part i really like it. theyre easy to upgrade, as well.
