I need a TV

I need a TV for my room. I'll be viewing it from pretty close, so I was thinking something in the 20"-30" range.

The main reason for me getting a new TV is that I just got a PS3, and I want to play it in HD goodness so it must be HDTV.

I would really like HDMI, but I could live with component input.

My biggest thing is price. I really want to keep the price under $500, preferably around $300. I know its not much, but that's all I have.

I really like Samsung, but theres just too many others out there, its a bit overwhelming. Any suggestions?
 
If you feel like taking a calculated risk on a very good CRT HDTV, then look into getting a refurbed 30" Philip's model for under $400. It has HDMI, whole mess of other inputs, and a bunch of other options just no picture-in-picture.
 
My recommendation is to wait if that is your price range. I don't think there's a 1080p TV out there that would fit in that 500 dollar range. Since PS3 has that 1080P capability, you would probably want to get a TV that would maximize it's potential vs. getting something that wouldn't and regret it in the long run (especially since you're getting this TV because of the PS3)

I thought there wasn't a big difference between 1080i and 1080p.

check out the Samsung 27in slimfit hdtv. Has 2 hdmi inputs, 2 set of components inputs, and some other features. Does 480p,720p,1080i
