They most certainly do not suck.
I work for myself, and I do precisely what I did when I was employed by others. I still meet with clients, I go out to eat with colleagues a few times per week, and I have a completely flexible schedule. Yes, there is less separation, but I work out of an office entirely separated from the rest of my house. I can go right into my kitchen and pull a fantastic espresso shot, and maybe take a break relaxing on my porch. The flexibility is priceless.
Anyway, I LOVE working for myself, and especially from home.
