I need a speech topic!

I have to give a persuasive speech on tuesday, and I really need to come up with a topic so I can research it today. It has to be trying to persuade the audience to do or not to do something.

I've been sittin here thinkin about it for an hour and have come up with a few ideas, but none that would be that great for a speech.

So far I have:
Give Reading a Chance, <-- persuading people to read more
Take up Karate <-- telling people why they should try martial arts

Seriously though, can't think of anything else... those speeches I could probably make a decent speech on, but I don't really know of any really convincing arguments for either. If you have a good topic please help me out!

For a college speech class, not high school.

Might be on to something with the obesity thing, I'm kinda a phattie myself though, but I have gone from 300 to 260 in the last year.... (I'm tall as well, so its not as fat as it sounds)
