I need a sound app that will emulate the mic

Switch the mic/device-in to Wave. You wont be able to use your mic as long as it's like that, but it plays the sounds from Windows perfectly.

i joined one of those once, it seemed like the most idiotic mod - fall from really high up and slide down onto some little area where someone guns you down. If you survive you gun them down as they fall.

Meh, depends on the map. Some are designed for killing other people, but the fun ones are just for surfing. Which is fun once you get the hang of it. Though its just not as fun in CSS, only in 1.6
