i need a script to refresh a streaming broadcast

My company is using an old computer hooked up to our PBX box to supply the hold music for our phone system. The computer has Winamp running which is streaming radio from a web site. Every so often (every day i think) it loses its connection (no more hold music). I am looking for a way to have Winamp refresh the connection. i am not married to winamp so if there is another program that will solve this problem that would be fine. I was wondering if anyone knew if i could write a script or an app, that would dump the connection and then reestablish it.

I dont want to record the audio. just refresh the connection, i didnt see anything for that (unless i missed it, quite possible)
